Lip Sync Quality: Generally quite accurate. In some shots, its synced slightly faster than the music.
Genre: Correctly represents the 'pop genre' as the girls are appropriately dressed as modern teenagers. In also includes dancing, a characteristic of the genre. The relation between the target audience and the school setting is also appropriate for the genre.
Lyrics/Visuals: A few lyrics such as 'not gonna pick up my phone' are literally visually represented. There are many other examples, but me and ruri think this is appropriate for the genre and the target audience is young people.
Music/Visuals: Not a lot to say apart from the bobbing and the interesting 'dancing' where in time with the beat of the song. No timed cuts as far as we can see.
Voyeurism: Um, no comment.
Intertextuality: Has a lot of similar elements to ruri's favourite Britney video such as the opening class shot, tapping the pen on the table and escaping into corridors in order to dance.
Variety of shots: Very limited selection of shots mostly mid shots occasional cuts to closer shots. Ruri got very excited over the high angle shot of the book being written in.
Mise-en-scene: Basic school feel. Basic modern costume. No thought of lighting or feel of colours.
Originality and conclusion: We conclude that this video isn't exactly 5/5 for originality due to the similarity to Britney Spears 'Baby On More Time'.
The lip syncing is quite precise. The lyrics/visuals link directly (illustrative) as the performers do what the lyrics say such as not picking up her phone. There's a sense of voyeurism as the singers are looking directly into the camera. The camera work is very steady but there is not much variety. The video links to the original video by Bruno Mars with a group of singers but is still original.
The lip syncing is fairly precise throughout but becoming out of sync in some places. The lyrics and visuals are very illustrative particularly the scene with the phone. Although the camera work is very well executed the variety of shots is limited and could easily be improved. The level of originality isn't too great as in parts it copies the official video. The mise en scene is limited. There are little props used and the costumes and colours are dull but this could suggest the dull attitude of not doing anything.
Lip Syncing Quality
ReplyDeletegood, very in time and precise
Shot variety
close ups and mid / long shots showed the focus' for each of the scenes was good
Mise en scene
location and Costume was basic but the use of props was good and related to the lyrics
Originality
original idea, very different to the official music video
Over all good and well timed.
Visuals / Lyrics
The use of holding the words up on the paper was an original idea and worked well.
Also using the phone when the word 'phone' was said.
Voyeurism
The way all the video is sung into the camera is good
